Would my answers be more beleivable if I said I have 46 years photography experience as my source?

July 142010

is 46 to much or should i use another number?
doug good point, all these veterans with no images?

There is some really cool stuff you have done.
I love the presentation of everything.

You are right though, it’s all about image.
No shame in manipulating it a little to convey the right message.

Does anyone know a good photography program?

July 112010

I am looking for a really good program that will allow me to manipulate the photos. Add color or change colors. I have GIMP and paint.net. Either I don’t know how to do it or they just don’t do what I am looking for. I don’t have a lot of money I can spend on it. I know you get what you pay for but if the money ain’t there it dosen’t matter how good it is!! lol

these online aps make things pretty simple:
"Picnik makes your photos fabulous with easy to use yet powerful editing tools. Tweak to your heart’s content, then get creative with oodles of effects, fonts, shapes, and frames.
It’s fast, easy, and fun."

http://www.picnik.com/

"FotoFlexer is the world’s most advanced online digital photo editor. It performs advanced effects previously only available to professionals using expensive software. FotoFlexer was founded by Arbor Labs, a team of graduate students and alumni from the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, University of California at Berkeley (and just one MIT/Stanford alum too)."

http://fotoflexer.com/

"Splashup, formerly Fauxto, is a powerful editing tool and photo manager. With all the features professionals use and novices want, it’s easy to use, works in real-time and allows you to edit many images at once. Splashup runs in all browsers, integrates seamlessly with top photosharing sites, and even has its own file format so you can save your work in progress."

http://www.splashup.com/

"Do what you want with your photos. Give them cartoon colors. Distort them. Go nuts. Turn average photos into jaw droppers with options like Pop Color, Sketch, Hue, Black & White, Tint, and more."

How To Slow Speed Or High Speed In Photography.?

July 82010

Hopefully You Know What I Am Talking About, But In Photos’ Some People Take Photos Of Cars (Kind Of Like Light Graffiti) And All You See Is A Line I Am Pretty Sure This Is Slow Speed, . Or Water, They Fill It Up And Make It Look Really Cool I Think That Is High Speed, I’m Sorry If I Made No Sense, But I Have And Example Of What I Mean.

High Speed

Slow Speed

http://www.digital-photography-tips.net/images/night-time-kuala-lumpur.jpg

You are correct in thinking that frozen motion (the splash from the glasses) is captured by using a faster shutter speed and also often by using a flash or strobe to further freeze the motion. The car light trails, silky milk waterfalls, light writing, star trails etc are slower shutter speeds, anywhere from several seconds to minutes and beyond, depending on the effect you want. To make pictures like that you will need a camera where you can adjust the shutter speed. Your camera manual is your friend.

A side note, it is really irritating to read a sentence in English where grammar rules have been mangled at will.

Tips would be appreciated along with compliments!

first one is excellent the depth of field really emphasizes the water droplets and i like the symmetrical composition
second one seems overexposed

Do prefer your real-life friends over your net friends or is it the other way around?

June 302010

What I mean is:
We met alot of friends on the net and they may be helped us and sometimes support us, for example: I’m a Photographer and i have an account on deviantart , i registered when i was a begginner and i still didn’t even know how to use my SLR, they gave me some tutorials and they supported me as well. Ok, now lets talk about my friends in real-life, when i bought my SLR they started asking me what i’m gonna do with it and i told just for fun. no one knew that i have a deviantart account until i gave them the address and until they saw me post a picture of them there. They didn’t even know i have the talent of photography. And without my DA friends i wouldn’t be a photographer.

Whats your opinion on net friends and your real-life friends?
If you please, answer this question & dont comment on the example, i need opinions.

I prefer my real life friend because i know who they really are and can connect with them on more levels than just typing. the people on the website are meant to tutorial you. your friend knew probably as much about photography as you. Your real friend are going to be their for more than photography
