Where can I buy a wedding album that professional photographers use?

June 282010

Posted in wedding | 5 Comments »

My in-law’s wedding album cover is ruined. I want to get them a new wedding album as a 50th wedding anniversary present.

I purchase from Perfection Distribution. But a wedding album is not just a wedding album. There are literally hundreds of styles and page designs and photo mount types. My honest opinion is to go to a professional photographer, (who does weddings), and show him / her what you have and let them take it from there. It may be the only way you have to do this right… and will certainly be the best way from a quality standpoint.

But anyway, here is the link to Perfection Distribution:

How soon to do destination wedding cake tasting?

June 252010

Posted in wedding | 1 Comment »

My Fiance and I are planning a wedding 600 miles from where we currently live. We will be going there next month, is that too soon to do cake tastings for a wedding that will take place Spring 2011? If we went a month before the wedding, would that be too short notice to have a cake made for us? And if anyone knows of a good bakery in San Diego, I would appreciate suggestions!

I would start sampling now?

How to address wedding invitations to single friends and family members?

June 212010

Posted in wedding | 7 Comments »

I am in the process of addressing invitations for my wedding. My fiance has several cousins that are in relationships, we’re not a 100% sure which ones, and we are inviting several friends who wont know many people at the wedding.

I would like to give everyone an option who is single to bring a date. However, I don’t really want to write and Guest on all of the invitations, and have people start searching for a date to bring.

What should I write, so that I do not offend anyone, and give everyone who wants to bring a date the opportunity to do so.

You just write "and guest" if you’re not sure someone’s in a relationship. If they want to bring a date, or have a handy boyfriend/girlfriend that you don’t know about, they will bring someone. If they don’t feel like looking for a date, 95% of them will understand that "and guest" means "you have the option to bring someone, but you don’t have to." The 5% that are really stupid/clueless aren’t worth worrying about, because there’s really nothing you can say that will make it clearer for them.

If you know that Cousin Sally has a long-time boyfriend but can’t remember his name, just call up and say "Hey, we’re addressing wedding invitations and I wanted to include your boyfriend on yours. Could you spell his name for me so I can be sure it’s correct? Thanks." No one will be offended that you ask – most people will find it very thoughtful that you’re taking the time to get it right.

We created this EPIC wedding trailer as our Save-the-Date. It’s a parody of action movie trailers, with every cliche we could think of. Sorry for the terrible acting. For the full effect, turn up the sound… way up! Enjoy!

P.S. We thought most of the music clips would be instantly recognizeable, but a lot of people have been asking about them, so here they are in order of appearance:

Wedding colors where bride will be wearing red?

June 182010

Posted in wedding | 20 Comments »

I am in the beginning stages of planning a wedding, but having trouble picking a color scheme. The only thing I know for sure is that do to my fiance family background we have chosen that I will wear a deep red wedding dress. We are thinking of early spring (April, May) or fall (Oct, Nov) for the wedding. I only what my dress to be red not the whole wedding. Any ideals of what color scheme I can use?

Well, it is true that the simplest and easy answer is black and white (or just black or white) for the attendants. I had a coloured gown and this is what I did. It does look really nice.

However, if that doesn’t sound like something you’d like, I’d highly recommend that you go to a local fabric store and pick up some colour swatches (paint colour cards from the hardware store will do in a pinch).

You want to find a shade that complements and suits your dress colour. What is the overall theme and season of the wedding? This may also help determine which colours to use. Do you want a subtle subdued look or a bright bold "look at me" wedding party?

Again, I highly suggest using fabric swatches alongside the fabric from your dress. Visualizing the colours against it each should help a few to "jump out" at you. If you still can’t decide based on simply what looks best, narrow it down based on the look you are going for (or perhaps your season or theme), and go from there.

Best wishes!

What type of wedding gown would be good for an outside wedding?

The wedding is in a pasture, so I don’t want a dress with a train. And I’m also wanting a dress with black accents. But the main question is what type of dress do I look for that doesnt have a train?

Look for a tea length wedding dress! It’s still long, but not long enough to drag in the grass!

What are your wedding reception centerpieces?

June 82010

Posted in wedding | 9 Comments »

When is your wedding, and what centerpieces are you having/do you want?

We have ours picked out – 10 candles in different sizes around an Eiffel tower filled with burgundy and white orchids, and our wedding is July 19, 2009. I would love to know what you are using! =) Thanks!

Oh lord, I wish I knew…
I’m terrible at this sort of thing.

We’re getting married on 6-13-09 – the idea that I had was to do cream colored tablecloths, with cream colored orchids, in chocolate brown square planters. Our colors are cream, brown, and green (leaves).

Another idea I had was to do a green dish filled with brown river rocks, with a gardenia blossom floating in water.
